Factusol is, without doubt, one of the most widely used invoicing and stock-control programs by freelancers and small businesses in Spain. For years it was free, which drove its adoption. Today, integrated into the TeamSystem group following the acquisition of Software del Sol (DELSOL) in 2021, it operates on a subscription model. Many users who first knew it as a free tool now wonder whether renewing is worthwhile or whether a better-suited alternative exists for their current situation.
The honest answer is that it depends on what you use it for. Factusol is an excellent tool for invoicing, purchasing, sales and stock control in small or micro commercial businesses. But it has clear limits: it is not accounting software, it does not handle payroll, and its desktop version requires Windows. If your business has grown, if you need integrated accounting, or if you want to work from any device in the cloud, it is time to evaluate alternatives.
At Summum Sistemas we have been implementing and migrating management software for SMEs since 2007. As an Official TeamSystem Partner, we know the DELSOL ecosystem inside out, and we also know when it makes sense to stay on Factusol and when it is worth making the switch. This guide gives you clear criteria to decide.
Why people look for alternatives to Factusol
Before looking at options, it is worth understanding what drives the change. The most common reasons we hear from clients are:
- The business has grown and you now need real accounting, not just invoicing. Factusol does not generate the General Accounting Plan or submit tax returns.
- You need to work from multiple devices or on the go. The desktop version of Factusol runs on Windows; the cloud version exists but carries a monthly subscription cost.
- You want to integrate payroll in the same system. Factusol does not handle payroll; for that there is Nominasol (another DELSOL product) or broader solutions.
- You have been told you must comply with Verifactu and you are not sure whether your current Factusol version covers it. (Spoiler: the updated version does include Verifactu compliance.)
- The move to a paid model caught you off guard and you want to explore whether there are options with a better cost-to-functionality ratio for your profile.
What Factusol covers and what it does not
To compare properly, you need a clear picture of Factusol's actual scope:
| Feature | Factusol |
|---|---|
| Invoicing (outgoing and incoming) | Yes |
| Stock and warehouse control | Yes |
| Purchase and supplier management | Yes |
| Quotes and delivery notes | Yes |
| Verifactu compliance | Yes (updated version) |
| Point-of-sale terminal (with TPVSOL) | Yes, with additional module |
| Accounting (journal entries, VAT/income tax/corporation tax returns) | No |
| Payroll and Social Security | No |
| SII (Immediate Information Supply) | No (that is Contasol) |
| Operating system | Windows (desktop) / cloud |
| Native multi-device access | Cloud version only |
With this map on the table, the alternatives fall into order according to what you need.
The best alternatives to Factusol according to your profile
1. Billin — for freelancers and micro-businesses that only need to invoice
Billin is TeamSystem's offering for the lightest segment: freelancers and micro-businesses with few invoices per month and no need for complex stock control. It is a 100% cloud application, accessible from any browser or mobile device, with a very simple interface. It includes compliance with Verifactu (freelancers have until 1 July 2027; legal entities have until 1 January 2027, per RD 1007/2023 and RDL 15/2025). Its indicative price starts from around 6.60 EUR/month, although the manufacturer publishes current plans on its website.
It is the natural alternative if you have been using Factusol to issue a handful of invoices per month and stock control is not a priority. But if you manage a warehouse or have significant order volumes, Billin falls short.
2. Contasol — when you genuinely need accounting
If what you are missing in Factusol is accounting, the logical alternative within the DELSOL/TeamSystem ecosystem is Contasol. It is professional accounting software that handles the General Accounting Plan, VAT and income-tax returns, corporation tax, annual accounts, and SII (Immediate Information Supply, mandatory for companies with annual turnover exceeding 6 million euros).
The usual approach for growing SMEs is to use Factusol for invoicing and stock + Contasol for accounting, connected via journal-entry exports. If you are already doing that and it works, you may not need to change tools — only fine-tune the integration. If you want everything unified, the next option is more suitable.
The indicative prices for Contasol published by the manufacturer range from a standard annual version to cloud plans per user per month. Check current rates directly at sdelsol.com, as they change regularly.
3. DELSOL 360 — the integrated cloud suite
If the goal is to unify invoicing, accounting and payroll in a single cloud platform without installing anything, DELSOL 360 is TeamSystem's answer for that segment. It brings together Factusol + Contasol + Nominasol in an integrated suite accessible from the browser. Data flows between modules without manual exports.
It is the most natural alternative to Factusol for those already in the DELSOL ecosystem who want to move to more complete management without changing provider or data model. At Summum Sistemas we help configure and migrate to DELSOL 360 from previous Factusol desktop installations. See our Factusol and DELSOL implementation and support service to learn how we organise that transition.
4. Holded — for SMEs that want a complete cloud ERP
Holded (part of the Visma group) is the best-known cloud ERP offering in the Spanish market for SMEs with between 5 and 50 employees. It integrates invoicing, accounting, CRM, inventory, projects and payroll in a single platform. The interface is modern and the learning curve is lower than traditional software.
Holded makes sense when the business has outgrown the Factusol user profile and needs a system with more interconnected modules, native multi-device access and automations. Its disadvantage compared to DELSOL 360 is that localised support in Spain may be less specialised, and compliance with Spanish tax regulations (Verifactu, SII, tax returns) requires verifying the current software version.
5. Sage 50 — for companies whose external accountant already uses Sage
Sage 50 (successor to the historic ContaPlus) is a well-established option for SMEs with an external accountant or advisory firm already working in the Sage ecosystem. Its strength lies in accounting and integration with Sage 200 as the business continues to grow. If your advisory firm already uses Sage, file compatibility may tip the balance.
6. Aplifisa — especially for professional practices and advisory firms
If you are a tax or labour advisory firm that used Factusol to manage your own clients' invoicing, the most complete alternative within the TeamSystem group is Aplifisa, headquartered in Salamanca with over 40 years in the market. Aplifisa has a Verifactu invoicing module (FactuGes), SII accounting, payroll, income tax/corporation tax/VAT return modules, an employee portal and practice management. It is aimed exclusively at the professional-practice segment, not end-user companies.
Comparison table: Factusol vs. the main alternatives
| Tool | Ideal profile | Invoicing | Accounting | Payroll | Stock | Verifactu | Model |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Factusol | Freelancer / commercial SME | Yes | No | No | Yes | Yes | Desktop + cloud |
| Billin | Freelancer / micro-business | Yes | No | No | Basic | Yes | Cloud |
| Contasol | SME / accounting practice | Limited | Yes | No | No | Via SII | Desktop + cloud |
| DELSOL 360 | SME with multiple departments | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Cloud |

Verifactu: does it require changing software?
One of the most common questions we receive is whether compliance with Verifactu requires changing programs. The short answer is no, provided your current software is up to date.
Verifactu is the invoicing registration system established by RD 1007/2023, which requires invoicing programs to generate invoice records with a digital fingerprint (chained hash) and, optionally, to send them in real time to the AEAT. There is no list of software «approved» or «certified» by the AEAT: compliance relies on a manufacturer's declaration of conformity. The entry-into-force deadlines, according to RDL 15/2025, are:
- Legal entities (companies): 1 January 2027.
- Freelancers (natural persons): 1 July 2027.
Factusol, Billin and Aplifisa (with its FactuGes module) already have Verifactu compliance according to information published by TeamSystem. Contasol includes SII, which is the equivalent system for companies with annual turnover exceeding 6 million euros; SII and Verifactu are mutually exclusive: if you already submit SII, Verifactu does not apply.
If you have doubts about whether your current version of Factusol meets Verifactu requirements, or need help with the migration and configuration, Summum Sistemas can resolve that for you. Contact our Factusol and DELSOL implementation team for a no-obligation review.
When it makes sense to stay on Factusol
Changing software has a real cost: data migration, training, process adjustment, adaptation time. It is not always worth it. It makes sense to stay on Factusol if:
- Your business mainly manages invoicing and stock, without needing its own accounting (your advisory firm handles that).
- You work on Windows and do not need frequent multi-device access.
- Your operation volume fits comfortably within the current subscription plans.
- You value the stability of mature software with years of track record and a large user community.
- Your advisory firm already works with Factusol files and the integration works well.
In that case, the smartest move is not to change tools, but to make sure you are on the updated version for Verifactu and, if necessary, connect Factusol with Contasol to close the accounting cycle.
How to migrate from Factusol to another solution without losing data
If after evaluating your options you decide you need an alternative, the migration process has four critical steps:
- Export current data: Factusol allows you to export customers, suppliers, items and invoices in standard formats. A complete export must be done before any change.
- Clean up master data: this is the best moment to eliminate duplicate customers, obsolete items and expired price lists. Migrating bad data only moves the problem.
- Set up the new system: invoice series, taxes, payment methods, warehouses, user profiles. Each program has its own logic and must be configured before importing data.
- Parallel running period: for at least one month, it is advisable to keep Factusol in read-only mode while the new system gets up to speed. This gives you a reference to verify that data has migrated correctly.
At Summum Sistemas we have carried out this process for dozens of companies. The greatest risk is not technical but human: changing in the middle of a busy sales period or without prior training for the team. Planning the timing of the switch is as important as the technical execution.
Frequently asked questions
Is Factusol valid for Verifactu or do I need to change?
Factusol has Verifactu compliance in its updated versions, according to information published by Software del Sol (DELSOL), part of the TeamSystem group. There is no need to change software for this reason as long as you have a recent version installed. The key point is that no software is «certified» or «approved» by the AEAT: compliance is based on the manufacturer's declaration of conformity (RD 1007/2023). If you have doubts about your specific version, check with your provider or with Summum Sistemas.
Can I switch from Factusol to Holded without losing my invoice history?
Yes, it is possible, though with caveats. Holded allows you to import customers, suppliers and items from CSV. Historical invoices can be kept in Factusol in read-only mode or exported as PDF files for archiving. What is generally not migrated automatically are historical stock movements and numbering series, which must be set up from scratch in the new system. An implementation specialist can minimise data loss and validate the process.
What is the difference between Factusol and DELSOL 360?
Factusol is the invoicing and commercial management module from DELSOL. DELSOL 360 is the cloud suite that integrates Factusol + Contasol (accounting) + Nominasol (payroll) in a single browser-accessible platform. If you use Factusol on the desktop and want to add accounting and payroll without changing provider, DELSOL 360 is the natural evolution within the same ecosystem.
Is Aplifisa an alternative to Factusol for any company?
Not exactly. Aplifisa is designed specifically for professional practices and advisory firms (tax, labour, accounting), not for companies managing their own commercial operations. If you run an advisory firm that invoices its clients and also handles their tax returns and payroll, Aplifisa can be a very complete solution. But if you are a distribution, retail or services company that needs to manage its own sales and purchases, the right alternative is more likely DELSOL 360, Holded or Sage 50.
